About the narrow boat Belfast

Six Bunks, Shower and Toilet in the rear cabin

The Galley

The galley is fitted with a domestic size gas cooker, a fridge and a full range of utensils and equipment sufficient to feed the hungriest crew. The galley, the shower room and toilet all have hot and cold water and a new boiler provides heating throughout the boat.

The Boat

The Narrow Boat Belfast is a 72ft steel hulled “Big Woolwich, Town Class” boat, built in 1936 by Harland and Wolff at Woolwich for the fleet of the Grand Union Canal Carrying Company. She has been refitted and converted for the use of young people. The boat can carry a maximum of fourteen people, with accommodation for twelve in the main cabin plus two berths in the separate boatman's cabin.
